Why bother?!?
Well, this all comes down to simply making extra money while you do what you are going to inevitably do anyway - surf on the world wide web.
Most of these companies are based around an advertisement bar that is about 1-2 inches high and spands across half of your screen to straight across. My main fear when I first starting this was that the bar would be too large, and it would be an annoying thing to have up. For EVERY bar here, that is anything but the case. It's basically like having another 2-3 task bars in size on the bottom or top of your screen, while you surf. While you are surfing, and going whereever you go on the net, you are logging time, which is time they will pay you a hourly amount for. The advertisement bars usually have one to two advertisements, and like any other form of advertising, you will become immune to the banners, and hardly realise they are there.
For most people, this is a way for them to pay for their internet connection at the very least. just using a single program can pay for ISP, or a couple if you are on cable. If you decide to not pursue with any more programs, or to start refering people to gain extra money (see "Can you maximize?"), at least let your internet connection pay for itself by joining a couple of these programs. You have everything to gain, and nothing to lose by at least trying it.
